The year was 2015. I was in 7th grade. My first exposure to this band was when i saw the music video for "A Box Full Of Sharp Objects" on youtube. I had never heard anyone scream quite like Bert Mccracken did. His vocal frys sounded raw and high. And the way he would fade in and out of screams vs cleans was truly phenomenal! That next day i went and picked up their self titled CD from FYE. The first track "Maybe Memories" had me floored almost instantly. It was as if somebody had thrown me against a wall and was screaming at me (in a good way of course) This is a perfect album for me. For many reasons: The unfiltered emotion, the funky "Red Hot Chili Peppers" style bass, Brandons hesitant yet fast paced drumming. solid 10/10 for me. The album ends beautifully as well. With the dopest and heaviest track on the album being the hidden track. In conclusion...I highly recommend!
